| Today was Good. I feel closer to the river than I have in a while. Been kinda drought-ish, real dry. Just kept pressing on though. I love it when God breaks through. Usually with just a word or two i.e. : Luke 7:47 "Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. "
That kinda sums it up for me. Ever clear like the new Jerusalem, your sins have been forgiven go and sin no more. Been learning about Revelation. Pretty cool. Here is where I find myself
9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" 11Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.
and here
9One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." 10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Ballad Of A Thin Man You walk into the room With your pencil in your hand You see somebody naked And you say, "Who is that man?" You try so hard But you don't understand Just what you'll say When you get home Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? You raise up your head And you ask, "Is this where it is?" And somebody points to you and says "It's his" And you say, "What's mine?" And somebody else says, "Where what is?" And you say, "OH MY GOD AM I HERE ALL ALONE?" Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? You hand in your ticket And you go watch the geek Who immediately walks up to you When he hears you speak And says, "How does it feel To be such a freak?" And you say, "Impossible" As he hands you a bone Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? You have many contacts Among the lumberjacks To get you facts When someone attacks your imagination But nobody has any respect Anyway they already expect you To just give a check To tax-deductible charity organizations You've been with the professors And they've all liked your looks With great lawyers you have Discussed lepers and crooks You've been through all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's books You're very well read It's well known Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you And then he kneels He crosses himself And then he clicks his high heels And without further notice He asks you how it feels And he says, "Here is your throat back Thanks for the loan" Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? Now you see this one-eyed midget Shouting the word "NOW" And you say, "For what reason?" And he says, "How?" And you say, "What does this mean?" And he screams back, "You're a cow Give me some milk Or else go home" Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones? Well, you walk into the room Like a camel and then you frown You put your eyes in your pocket And your nose on the ground There ought to be a law Against you comin' around You should be made To wear earphones Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones?

| A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom.
A mistake is to commit a misunderstanding.
A poem is a naked person... Some people say that I am a poet.
A song is anything that can walk by itself
All I can do is be me, whoever that is.
All this talk about equality. The only thing people really have in common is that they are all going to die.
But even the President of the United States sometimes must have to stand naked.
Colleges are like old-age homes, except for the fact that more people die in colleges.
Democracy don't rule the world, You'd better get that in your head; This world is ruled by violence, But I guess that's better left unsaid.
Don't matter how much money you got, there's only two kinds of people: there's saved people and there's lost people.
I accept chaos, I'm not sure whether it accepts me
He not busy being born is busy dying.
I consider myself a poet first and a musician second. I live like a poet and I'll die like a poet.
I like America, just as everybody else does. I love America, I gotta say that. But America will be judged.
I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom.

| real quick:
We as Christians over the years have made a horrible habit of making Good people into God people. Three cases:
1) St. Patrick. Great guy. Never wanted to be recognized for his contributions. Now has a day dedicated to him so people get wasted on Green Beer.
2) Mary the mother or Jesus. "The virgin mother". Yes she was a virgin at the point of Jesus birth, but she had other kids and they all weren't holy spirit conceived. Now has many worshiped idols in her image.
3) St. Nicolas. AKA Santa Claus. Great man. Helped the poor, gave away all his possessions and is a now a day Buddha-ish god.
So way to go society. May God protect me from ever becoming bigger than Him in the eyes of men.

I CAN'T HOLD ON!!! and then like an epiphany I scream "I DON'T HAVE TOO!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOO" Splashing, kicking against the waves, trying to find air, (like I need it) GLUB, GLUB. Your taking me deeper. Were finding more. Caves buried beneath the surface. The cool water is quiching my thrist. Ahhhhh. So refreshing. .................. Holiness its what I long for. Trying to find you Lord. Sometimes I feel like a hound who lost his nose. BUT NOT TODAY. I have found you and you are mine,

| Hmmm....lets take a look at this shall we.
In American culture we have many iconic figures. During this time of year I want to look at two special ones. Christmas is a special time of year and the two figures that come out during this time of year the most are Santa Claus and Jesus Christ. Who are these two people? Well, looking at pictures of each maybe we can draw some sort of conclusion on who they are. Santa Claus is a white/European who looks to be around 60 years old and yet never ages. He has white hair and beard, a twinkle in his usually blue eyes, and is slightly obese, not that it hinders him from climbing up and down many chimneys every year.
Jesus Christ is a white/European around 30 years of age with long brown hair and a beard. He has blue eyes and obviously has a membership to a local gym. Depending on what time period your looking at him, he either is a bloody mess hanging on a cross, a small baby in a barn, or a young man walking around with about 12 other guys.
There are many similarities about these two already. What else can we draw from the American perception of these two.
Santa Claus is believed to travel around the world in one night and deliver presents to children both good and bad, even though their is the threat of coal for being bad. He has mysterious magical powers,we assume come from the "spirit of Christmas". Lives in the north pole with many small people called Elves. Hangs out with his eight tiny reindeer pets. Many families offer him cookies and milk.
Jesus Christ is known as the son of God. Has given the gift of eternal life anytime, anywhere.Whether your "good" or "bad". Is in heaven hanging out with angels, people, cherubim, and other things. His power comes from the fact that he is God and did create everything. Now we see some serious differences between the two. And yet lets us again look at some more things:
Santa Claus is paraded down the street every year and greeted with cheers. Jesus was paraded down a street and spit on. But apparently with both Jesus and Santa, their only goal is to give you whatever you want if you'll ask Songs are sung about both Santa and Jesus this time of year. One in particular I heard the other day was "I believe in Santa" Not sure of all the words but it was how Santa was the root of all good in the world.
Christmas was created to memorialize the birth of Jesus, who to most is either still in a manager or on a cross in the middle east, not in heaven on a throne. I was talking with my friend Jim the Baptist, the other day about how the Vatican had just forgiven John Lennon for his comment that the Beatles had become bigger than Jesus. They said that they passed it off as the pride of a young man who wad dealing with unexpected stardom. Jim said "or maybe it was the church passing them off by letting a rock band get bigger than Jesus."
Yes this is a rant, but I fear we have let another become "bigger than Jesus"
